How Profusion Skin Therapy Works

The stratum corneum is the outermost layer of the epidermis. The purpose of the stratum corneum is to form a barrier to protect underlying tissue from infection, chemicals, and mechanical stress.

• Without Profusion, cells of the stratum corneum block topicals from penetrating the skin.
• With Profusion, the vacuum stretches the skin. Stratum corneum cells are pulled apart, creating pathways for material penetration.
• When vacuum is released, the stratum corneum returns to its normal position. Topicals remain deposited in the skin.
